Our Mission
The Mary Ellen Henderson PTA brings families, educators, and staff together to build a connected and inclusive school community. We support programs, resources, and opportunities that enrich the middle school experience and help every Husky thrive.

My family and I moved to Falls Church City from the Chicago area in 2021. When I'm not volunteering at Henderson or working in communications at the Falls Church Education Foundation, you can find me on a sideline, cheering on my boys (7th and 5th grade) as they play baseball, basketball or flag football. In just five years, we've built as amazing community in the Little City, and we look forward to supporting Henderson's mission this year.
Laura Brooks, Executive Vice President
My family and I moved to Falls Church in 2018 from McLean and we have loved raising our family here. This year we have a 7th grader at Henderson, as well as a 5th grader, a 9th grader, a 12th grader and a college kid. When I’m not volunteering or substitute teaching, you might find me at the soccer field or one of my favorite coffee shops around town. I’m excited to work on the events we have coming up this year for students and parents and to help support the teachers and staff at Henderson.

My husband and I both grew up in Falls Church City, and we love that our children are getting to grow up in this same special community. Our family includes a 6th grader, a 4th grader, and a preschooler (who is absolutely convinced he's already in elementary school). If you spot me around town, I'm probably at a sporting event cheering on my kids, perusing the best of the MRS Library stacks, or enjoying a meal at one of our favorite Little City restaurants. I'm looking forward to working with the PTA board and helping to keep our school community connected!
